Equine Planning Solutions have successfully obtained Detailed Planning Approval for new outdoor training facilities at Highground Barn near Chichester, West Sussex. The new 60m x 30m All-Weather Practice Arena will further enhance the facilities at Highground Barn which is the base for International Dressage rider Michael Bates and International Showjumper Nicki Bates.

Dressage rider Michael Bates represented Great Britain in the under 21’s, and has competed to PSG, training with some of the UK’s best Dressage riders. Specialising in young Dressage horses, he regularly produces some of the UK’s top ten 4 and 5 year olds. Michael has a National Title to his name, is a winner of The Dressage Masters Championships and the 5yr old Hickstead International class. He has also won 5 Regional Championships.

Showjumper Nicki Bates competes at National and International level with British Showjumping, and was on British Showjumpings ‘Step up to Gold’ programme 2016-2017. Specialising in training, Nicki has her BHSAI and spends much of her time teaching private customers, local Riding Clubs & Pony Clubs. Nicki is also the yard manager overseeing the organisation of liveries, horses in for sale, marketing & customer relations.

The new practice arena will be a valuable addition to the site and will help support Team Bates as they strive for success in future competitions.
